National Capital District
St John operates all of its services within the National Capital District.
St John’s National Headquarters is based in Port Moresby, along with the Emergency Communications Centre and the St John Support Service.
St John operates a 24 hour emergency ambulance service for Port Moresby and has five ambulances servicing the capital. Find out more! [link to ambulance service]

Want to learn about First Aid? The St John Education Service in NCD runs a variety of training courses for individuals, businesses and charities. The Education Service is based in Taurama Centre in Port Moresby – where expert trainers deliver courses all year round in the newly refurbished training room. The St John Blind Service is based in NCD. The St John Blind School has three teachers working with around 100 children with visual impairments. St John also runs an eye screening programme in schools within NCD and Central Province. Children who need further support are referred to local health facilities.
The St John Blood Service operates throughout Port Moresby – organising blood donation, testing, and distribution to hospitals. This service is vital to ensure the health facilities in the capital have enough blood carry out essential operations every day of the year. Find out how you can donate blood and save a life!
