24 hours a day, seven days a week, when you need us most.
24/7 – We are only one call away. St John Ambulance is working hard to deliver urgent medical treatment at the scene of an emergency or accident.
Every 43 minutes we receive a call for help from someone in Papua New Guinea..
St John is unique in its ability to offer a truly integrated model of care. We teach first aid in the community and to leading businesses, and we back that up with our city-wide network of public ambulances and paramedic response units to act quickly in any emergency, coordinating all required service.
The 24/7 emergency coordination centre is available to give you emergency advice and coordinate your emergency response in NCD.
The public ambulance service covers NCD and Central Province and is expected to be operating in East New Britain (Kokopo) and Morobe (Lae) Provinces this year.
Our air ambulance coordination centre can also arrange to get you help anywhere in Papua New Guinea, Bougainville or the Solomon Islands.
Private clients with access to our 24/7 Medical coordination centre can rest assured they have a direct line to our paramedics and doctors for support, advice and case management.
Individuals taken ill while abroad and needing emergency assistance to get them home can also rely on our air ambulance team of emergency doctors and specialist paramedics. Our expert team will arrange an air ambulance or a medical escort on a commercial flight if more appropriate, liaising with local medical teams and acting in the best interest of the patient at all times.
At St John, we respond to 111 calls 24 hours, seven days a week. Our highly trained staff, backed by first class systems, provide a robust service that ensures our patients receive the right care, at the right time.
We are proud of our ability to quickly locate, assess and dispatch the best emergency care across the National Capital District.
We are Here For Life.
We need your help
Our mission is to make Papua New Guinea a safer and healthier nation through the delivery of our emergency response units and prehospital care, but we can’t do it alone. Ever year our vehicles travel thousands of kilometers, the life of a frontline emergency vehicle is approximately six years, it costs over K220,000 to put an ambulance on the road complete with life saving equipment. Help us keep St John Ambulance service operational, your life may depend on it..
